Through BiTmaP, a skilled workforce in bioinformatics will be established in the Midwest building industries and jobs in science, health, medicine, energy, and the environment.
BiTmaP will:

• Provide students with training and employment resources in bioinformatics that is tuition supported.
• Stimulate economic development driven by the needs of a growing life science community.
• Enhance the skills the current workforce in alignment with the evolving industry needs.
• Be a model curriculum for other regions as demand for highly trained specialists outpaces supply.
