BiTmaP, Bioinformatics Training Program, is not accepting applications for the Fall 2008 Semester.
BiTmaP courses are accredited and provided by UIC. All courses are online, enabling students from all over the U.S. to participate.
BiTmaP courses are: Introduction to Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Functional Computational Genomics and Microarray, and Molecular Modeling in Bioinformatics. Students complete 1 required course and 2 electives to earn 12 graduate-level credits and a certificate in bioinformatics from UIC.
Minimum admission requirements:
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in C.S.
• Minimum B average (3.0 GPA)
• Background in Computer Science and competency in a minimum of one programming language (C/C++, Java, Perl, Python preferred)
• Aptitude for and interest in a career in the life sciences
